5 Expert Tips About Caring for Your In-House Wine Room Construction Designs

How to maintain your in-house wine room construction designs? Well, we’ve found this question in many places online. If you’ve got a large wine collection at your home, you must invest in a wine cellar. And there’re various ways you can build one. But regardless of anything, you must maintain your cellar in the right way. Since the right wine-storing environment is preferable for moulds and mildews, you should keep your cellar clean. But how can you maintain and care for your in-house cellar? Well, let’s discuss that further in the below blog post.

How to keep your wine cellar clean and well-maintained?

Like any household item, you should also maintain the efficiency of your wine cellar. It can also increase the longevity of your wine cabinet and give you a perfect opportunity to reorganise your cellar. Well, here’re the processes,

1. Start with removing the debris from your wine cabinet.

No matter if you’ve got a traditional wine room or a chic wine cellar, you should clean it at least once a year.

i)   Remove all the wine bottles from the cabinet.

ii)  Examine the interior unit of the cabinet to see if there’s any dirt, straw, etc.

iii) If there’s any, dust and brush them off using a dry, clean rag/brush.

2. Wipe the inside portion of your wine cabinet.

After a basic dusting off, now it’s time for cleaning up the interior portion of the cabinet.

Mix white distilled vinegar (or sodium bicarbonate) and warm water into a bucket.

i)   Now wipe the solution over the walls and shelves of the cabinet interior units using a soft cloth/rag.

ii)  Let the solution dry before reloading the bottles onto the wine cellar racks.

iii) If your wine cabinet has got drain holes, keep it clean by adding a few drops of disinfectant with some water and flushing the holes with the solution.

3. Vacuum the exterior surface of the wine cabinet.

Now that the interior part of the wine cabinet is clean, you should look for the exterior part.

i) Take a vacuum cleaner to clean the walls and other external components of the unit (condenser coils, compressors, etc.)

ii) Ensure that the electrical cords of the cleaner are intact.

4. Clean and seal your cellar door.

So, you’ve cleaned both the interior and exterior portions of your wine cabinet? Great! Now you need to move to the cellar door.

i)   Clean the sealing strip of the cellar door to extend its longevity and prevent discolouration.

ii)  Take clean water into a bucket and use it to clean the indentations of the seal as well.

iii) Once you’re done with the cleaning, ensure to provide it with a tight seal.

5. Check for moulds inside and outside of your wine cabinet.

The wine-storing environment is also preferable for moulds. And it can be a great way to look for moulds inside the cabinet. What if you find them?

i)   Make a solution with 50% vinegar and 50% water.

ii)  Wipe the walls and shelves of the cellar with this solution.

iii) Let it dry for a few minutes and then repeat the similar process with Sodium Bicarbonate.

Do you have a custom in-house wine room construction design? Instead of leaving it like that, ensure to keep it clean and well-maintained. And we hope this blog post will help you with that.
